How to eat macambo: simple snack and topping ideas.
Macambo Natural is ready to eat. Jungle-Harvest’s packaged beans need no additional preparation. Try them on their own or chop them to suit your taste.
Do I need to roast, cook or soak macambo?
You do not need to soak or cook Macambo Natural. The simplest way to start is to open the pack and try a small amount.
On its own: discover its flavour
Try macambo without any other ingredients first. That makes it easier to appreciate its mild, nutty and buttery flavour. You can then decide whether you prefer a sweet or savoury pairing. No special recipe or equipment is needed.
As a topping: add it just before eating
Chop a few beans and sprinkle them over muesli, a breakfast bowl or salad. Start with a small amount so the other ingredients still come through. Add the topping at the end if you want to notice its texture most clearly.
For a savoury pairing, try a fennel and orange salad: finely slice the fennel, add orange pieces and your usual dressing, then scatter a little roughly chopped macambo on top.
In a snack mix: a few ingredients are enough
You can pair macambo with dried fruit or a little dark chocolate. Make a small mix first rather than using the whole pack. You can then adjust the proportions to your taste.
Which size should I choose?
The 200 g pack is the smallest size for trying macambo. The 500 g and 1 kg sizes suit more regular use. Choose according to how often you expect to eat it, and compare the price per kilogram.
Storage and best-before date
Reseal the pack carefully after taking some beans out and follow the storage instructions on it. The best-before date is printed on your pack.
